We first arrived at the Leon airport on June 16, 2007 for the start of our three week vacation. Daniel, the property manager, was waiting for us with a sign "Bill Johnson". This was a pleasant way to begin our visit to San Miguel and the Casa de Angel.
Night fell as we began the 90 minute ride to San Miguel. We stopped at nice restaurant along the way to refresh ourselves after the food-less flights. We were when we saw the lights of the city off in the distance. We traveled through the quaint center of town and wound through a series of narrow streets then up an incline to the Casa de Angel.
When the doors opened we were amazed at the grandeur of the Casa. It is truly a home; very inviting and beautiful; wonderfully furnished, fully stocked with all the conveniences for cooking, cleaning and whatever else you need to do. Nothing is lacking.
After we settled in and rested we began to enjoy the wonderful peace of the Casa and the joy of just being there. It is an easy 5 minute walk in to the center of town and if needed a short ride back in a taxi.
Most enjoyable are the services provided by Daniel. Daniel was always available for questions; he recommended, arranged and conducted excursions and day trips to the many historic sites and cities.
Daniel's mother, Garcia, lives directly across the street. Besides her usual housekeeping duties, she is available for other helpful things. She is an excellent cook, most highly recommended for your intro into real Mexican cooking.
San Miguel offers untold adventures that you can explore on your own or with the help of Daniel, of course. Daniel is the best.
